This wonderful ensemble is comprised of 5 saxes, four trumpets, four trombones, a rhythm section of three, and a singer, all under the able direction of acclaimed Swiss multi-instrumentalist Christian Gavillet. Since its inception in 1989, the Orchestra has performed widely in Switzerland, and made several appearances at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Performances reflect a wide musical palette, ranging all the way from 1930's Swing band arrangements to contemporary arrangements by such stars as Bob Mintzer, and others. The Orchestra is available to perform at festivals, major events and private functions, both inside and outside Switzerland.

   [ The Montgomery Recreators ]
This great band began in 1974 as a volunteer group under the City of Montgomery's Parks and Recreation Department for the two-fold purpose of preserving big band music in this area and serving the community. The band has 20-22 regular members, rehearses twice a month, and plays about 15 times a year. Many of its performances support charities and civic activities, but the band also performs at commercial events, having travelled as far as Birmingham AL, Columbus GA, and San Destin FL. The band has been featured on NPR's "One-Night Stand" as an outstanding regional band, and in December 2001 it performed authentic Glenn Miller arrangements for some 3,000 people at the annual Christmas concert presented jointly by the City of Montgomery and Maxwell Air Force Base. The band specializes in ballroom dance tempos but has a library which includes virtually all styles of big band music.

We are a four man outfit consisting of dj Skizum (Mission on Mars) on turntables, keys and sampler; Nigel Sifantus (Grandfather Ridiculous) on drums, trigger pads and sampler; Mike Harris (Truth Groove/Nicky Gonzales Band) bassist/guitarist; and Taylor McFerrin (Grandfather Ridiculous) playing keys, sampler, vocals (singing, freestyling and beat box acrobatics). Often, we work with an additional guest dj, musician or vocalist.
When people come into the room who have not seen us before, they think that a dj is spinning until they see us playing everything live. Its a truly live act that bridges the gap between the dj and live music performance. We accomplish this by playing all of our gear as live instruments as opposed to pressing a button and playing along with a track. The arrangers are Graisier Raymond & Otto Hagman. Our group was born in 1991, and we have participated in large Jazz festivals in Switzerland, and in Europe. We took part in the International Jazz Festival in Breda, with over 700 other groups, and took both the second and third place prizes. Four of our musicians are professional, teacher at Genava Conservatory, and various Jazz activities. We have also played in Germany, Grunberg, Duisburg, Holland, and France.

Memphis Knights Big Band has played everywhere from personal back yards to the fantastic Cannon Center in downtown Memphis, and our music is only slighly less varied. We actively rehearse and maintain a repertoire that covers the early Swing as well as the jump Swing that is currently so hot. The book is growing by leaps and bounds with Latin, and vocal charts right now. Although we're vitually still unknown, we have enhanced some of the nicest parties, with some of the best party goers. We play mostly for private parties and fundraisers or benefits, but have played numerous weddings, and church events as well. We also read new charts down as a learning tool for an arranger or composer, and a reading tool for us. We record what's been written and get it back to them on either CD or a MiniDisc, whichever is preferred. It's been a fun part of our band.

Kit McClure, Yale University 1975, is a New York City bandleader and saxophonist. In 1982 her vision of a band of women musicians became a reality as the Kit McClure Band made its debut at the Ritz in New York City. The Band had the privilege of touring with the great Cab Calloway and the late rock star Robert Palmer. The band has done eight tours of Japan and five tours of Europe, with time out to produce the CDs "Some Like It Hot" and "Burning" on Redhot Records.
The Kit McClure Band's music ranges from transcriptions of Duke Ellingtons and Count Basies popular works all the way to the soulful grooves of Aretha Franklin, James Brown and original arrangements by Kit McClure and the Band.
In 2004, the Kit McClure Band continued to further the recognition of the achievements of women in music by completing "The Sweethearts Project", a tribute to the International Sweethearts of Rhythm, the popular all women band of World War II.

Under the leadership of Ian McDougall, the Monday Night Big Band has been performing weekly at Victorias premiere Jazz Club since January 2001.
Formed by Mike Herriott and Bruce Hurn, the band provides the city and surrouding area with regularly scheduled big band performances. It also presents band members with the opportunity to explore the repertoire that is available for jazz orchestra currently as well as compose new music for the ensemble.
The Monday Night Big Band is an all-star line-up of some of the province's best musicians including Canadian trumpet super-star Mike Herriott, saxophone phenom Monik Nordine, and piano veteran Tom Vickery.
This 22-piece group has performed with such notable artists as Joe Coughlin, Chase Sanborn, Hugh Fraser, PJ Perry, Guido Basso, and Rob McConnell.

The Jack Million Band is a professional all-round orchestra, It has an extended library containing music from swing to ballroom, latin to pop, jazz to disco. The Jack Million Band also offers concerts dedicated to the music of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Billy May, etc.

The Jack Million Band consists of 20 musicians including 3 vocalists and can be extended with a string section. Their enthusiasm and spontaneous behaviour guarantee a great big show. The conductor, Jack Coenen, is a teacher at the Conservatory of Maastricht (the Netherlands) and the School of Arts in Antwerp (Belgium), who also gives masterclass and workshops all over the world. Among the many stars with whom Jack has played are Shirley Bassey, Natalie Cole, Elvis The Concert. He has also played with 'The Glenn Miller Orchestra', 'The Skymasters' (Nl.) and the Belgian radio big band (BRT). Currently, Jack is also playing in the orchestra of Andr Rieu. Jack writes the arrangements for the band. These arrangements are a trademark for the sound of the Jack Million Band. You can hear the band on several galas, festivals, special occasions and parties.

John Miller is the charismatic nephew of Glenn Miller and runs the only band in the world with a direct Miller Family link.

The Band was formed in England in 1980 by John and his father Herb Miller (Glenn's brother, The Miller Kids: Dean, Glenn, Herb and Irene)

The band has travelled extensivly through Great Britian, Europe, The Scandinavian Countries and has played in Madrid, Du Bai and the Canary Islands.

The John Miller Orchestra's repetoire is "Miller Music" but ranges furthur a field if there is a strong Miller connection and Glenn knew lots of people.

The gregarious John Miller is considered to be the best frontman in the business and his unique brand of Yankee showmanship, humour and personality have given the Band a reputation of "a good time for all" (including the musicians) John has the uncanny ability to reach a crowd whether it is in the small confines of a smokey har or the vast expanse of Hyde park to 20 thousand plus.

An Oldies But Goodies R & B Band The Four Mints was formed by James Brown and Aaron Sledge. The group consists of people who were former members of other well known groups, who eventually would take them across the country and Canada, too. They moved from pop to soul to comedy with such ease that audiences all over the nation took notice. With four lead vocalists and three musicians, they cover a wide range of songs in their repertoire. They remain one of the few groups that has maintained their style and music, which today is referred to as "The Oldies". After several years of performing in nightclubs, concert halls, and hotels, they have become known as a "truly entertaining act". As a result, the group is often called upon to perform at a variety of special events. Today, the members consist of singers James Brown, James Rafford, Rema McCarroll, Willie Tatum and musicians Aaron Sledge (bass keys), taz toni (guitar) and Chris King (drums). MRSD was formed about a year ago and is a hardcore band in the Ventura County area. They have played all over the Ventura County & Los Angeles area. A highlight of the year was being played on the beaches of Negril, Jamaica during spring break. MRSD is in the process of recording it's first full length CD which should be in stores by the end of the year. MRSD is affiliated with Brycbox Productions. The band loves to play small shows in local bars to large arena events.

Meridian Voice is an Eclectic Jazz Quintet featuring some of the finest musical talent in the New York City area. The Band performs a variety of electric jazz originals and cover music, with an emphasis on groove and improvisation. The original lineup was formed in the late 1980s, with the intention of creating a world class progressive jazz combo that would record and perform original music in and around New York City. The group subsequently developed a large, dedicated following of jazz enthusiasts. The band enjoyed success until the mid 1990s, when it was mutually decided that they should take a hiatus to pursue individual musical endeavors.

In 2005, original members Adrian McCloskey and Paul Briscoe reformed their musical alliance with the addition of three new musicians, Jung Zoo Yoon, David Aaron, and Yoshiki Miura. This newly formed quintet immediately achieved a high level of musical and personal camaraderie. Meridian Voice is currently in pre-production of their debut album "Fox Force Five" and is actively performing in jazz clubs and festivals on the East Coast.
