(Gary, Eldon, and Dee) were either born, raised, or spent part of their lives in Kentucky. The remaining member (Chuck) was born and raised in Virginia.
CAUTION: There are several other Gary Potters.
1). There is a Gary Potter from Liverpool, England, who first made his name on the Country scene with an awesome picking technique, and then took that technique to his new love, the music of the "Gypsy Jazz" guitar. (a la Django Reinhardt)
2.) There is another Gary D. Potter, born in the Ozarks, in a musical family, His mother played piano and his uncle was a fiddle player, who taught him to play Bluegrass music. In the early 1970's, he began a career on the faculty of Texas A&M University.

Member: 'Little Charlie & the Nightcats', a band co-founded in 1976 by "Little" Charlie Baty (guitar) and Rick Estrin (harmonica, lead vocals). At the time, Charlie Baty was attending U.C.-Berkeley and studying mathematics. Both he and Estrin (Oct 5, 1949 in San Francisco, CA) were harmonica players and singers, but Baty could also play guitar, and he made the switch permanently when Estrin established himself as the stronger of the two. When they were joined by bassist Jay Peterson and drummer Dobie Strange, the band moved to Sacramento where they soon became one of the hardest-working "barroom" Blues bands on the West Coast
